Assessment

We understand how important it is for parents to know how well their child is doing in school. Our parents receive three, colour coded electronic progress reports a year, so they can see how well their child is doing compared to similar students nationally and in our school.  Parents also have an app which tells them how many achievement points their child has earned, what prep they have and when it is due, what lessons they have each day, what your child is eating, what clubs and activities are happening in school and what trips and visits are taking place.

All our parents' evenings are face to face, and we have lots of additional evenings for parents throughout the year. For example, in the first week of Year 7, parents are invited to a Success at CCR Evening. 90% of parents attend our parents' evenings. We also have a parent council that meets three times a year and every fortnight parents are sent a 15-second survey to gauge their views on various aspects of school life with the feedback given to parents in fortnightly updates by our principal.

Parents are sent a newsletter at the end of each term and our social media posts are updated daily, so we encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We also ensure students take home all their rewards and certificates.

If your child has special educational needs or disabilities, parents have a dedicated teaching assistant to contact and there are three coffee mornings a year for parents to meet our team.

Parents can email school through enquiries@castertoncollege.com or call our main reception if they have any other questions or concerns, and we will direct them to the right person. If parents wish to speak to governors, there are three trustee-parent surgeries available throughout the year.
