Personal Development
Education is about more than qualifications and academic study, important as they are. It is also about teaching young people how to prepare for adulthood and helping them, particularly the most disadvantaged, to acquire the cultural capital to succeed in life. This is something we take seriously at Casterton because we know that character counts in the world beyond school.
Our approach to Personal Development is based on five pillars, each with its own director.
-
Health, well-being and relationships
-
Democracy, leadership and participation
-
Identity, culture and community
-
Careers, aspirations and overcoming disadvantage
-
Faith, reflection and justice
